Well...

I'm not sure I would call this loop GREAT, but you have a lot of great ideas implimented throughout. At the beginning your beat emphasis kept changing, which was probably the biggest drawback of the entire piece.

I'd also recommend reducing the use of the kick drum at the beginning. In general, the kick drum is used to emphasis a beat, which is very difficult to do when it's playing eight notes. The work should be in the mid-upper frequency drums, the kick drum should be used only to accent particular parts, or help build up to a climax.

With a little work, this could be very nice!

I'll give it a 5 for the sake of exposure. I'd love to get your opinion on my audio, but only if you have the time!

KittenInAStocking responds:

Thank you! I will definitly review your music!

Nice job

I enjoyed the compositional quality of the piece. It was pretty interesting, although you could stand to use a little more structure. I would suggest trying to take a specific theme or melody and develop it throughout the piece.

You captured a very serene feeling with this piece, which displays your control over the instruments you used. I wasn't a fan of the drum, it felt very...blah (I can't really think of a better word choice). Something with a little more body would work much better. An do give it an even more serene feeling, I'd cut the use of the bass drum in half (gives it a lumbering feeling).

keep up the good work!

Thx mate, i appreciate your review

Neat

Very interesting piece. It sounds very unique in the fact that you use some unusual synths. I enjoyed not knowing what sound I may hear next. Certainly kept my interest!

I think you could stand to add some more drums, they seem awfully soft to me. Something to think about in the future.

I'm really surprised no one has downloaded this yet! I saw your comment over in the audio forum and decided I'd come and pay my respects, but I was pleasantly surprised with the piece.

Keep up the great work!

thnx man! =)

you doin great with your music too!!! =)

I loved it

Wow, you really got those beats sizzling! This was a really cool piece of music, you manage to do so much with so little, which is really an accomplishment in itself. It kept my interest the entire time, making me anxious to hear what you were going to do next.

You're really getting good at what you do, are you planning on persuing music as a career at all?

Keep up the fantastic work!

dj-padman1 responds:

Thanks man, I don't think it deserves straight ten's, but thanks!

Well, making music my life is really what I want, but it may not be possible. I'll have to crank it up a couple more gears I guess. Yeah, producing hard NRG, progressive house and mind blowing breaks and d'n'b touring the world would be my dream...! :P

You're probably one of the people here who could make it a practical career. Good luck with it if thats what you intend.

Great job!

This piece had a great feel. What I'm impressed most about is the clarity. I've heard a lot of rock/metal that sounds very muffled and hard on the ears. Have you setup a direct input to you computer?

Well done, keep up the good work!

speedmetalmessiah responds:

Wow man thanks a lot for stopping by to review. Yeah I am recording direct to my computer. The rhythm was done with just my Digitech GNX2 hooked into the line in on the back of my PC. The lead I ran my GNX2 through my amp and then into my computer. Glad you liked it.

Not bad

I wasn't a fan of the beginning, but it got better as the piece progressed. I would suggest that you add more complexity to your piece. Adding more parts to it, and diversifying the instruments.

The remix sounds like it could have some potential, it just needs a little more developing. It's a good start.

Keep up the good work!

If you've got a second I'd love to get your opinion on my music!

zerofalse responds:

thanx for the advice! ill try to add more complexity and stuff to my newer songs for sure. yeah man, ill check out your songs! no prob
thx for the review

Wow!

Great job! You certianly aren't a beginning at the piano, which is great. This piece was well composed. I enjoyed the melody and the chordal progressions.

In terms of performance, it was pretty good. I think you could work on brining out the melody more and lowering the left hand parts. Also, a lot more expression could have been put into the piece. I see many places where fermatas and tempo fluccuation would have given the piece more life.

At any rate, very well done, I'd love to hear more music like this! I'm going to 5 all of your stuff, you've got great tracks here!

If you get the chance, I'd love to get your opinion on my music!

niftyhero responds:

i'll definitely practice my piano and see how i can improve my compositions. i'm glad you liked this! thanks and i'll check out your music.

Not bad

This sounds like the start of a piece, not an enitre piece. It seems as though you set it up to loop. Nonetheless, it loops pretty well for an mp3 file, it seems you spent some time trying to get it to look properly.

I wasn't a fan of the drums you chose, perhaps they could have been a bit softer? I did like the chord progressions. An arpeggiator may have worked well in this if you had developed the piece further.

What sequencer and samples are you using? Keep up the good work!

I'll give you a 5 to try and keep it at the top long enough for you to get some more advice from people. If you have a chance, I'd love it if you would take a look at my tracks!

Spikrodd responds:

well it was late when i made this, and i just chose the drums to make it sound more techno-y!

I didnt use a sequencer this time (:O) i used the trance pluck 2 in short synth, and set it up as multiple notes being played. or sumthing like it

sure ill checkout your stuff, and also, thx for the 5!

Nice work

I wouldn't call this jazz so much as ambient, but that is a very minor detail. I love your style, a lot of your stuff has an ambient edge to it (if that even makes sense).

Some of your instrument choices weren't amazing, such as that odd synth in the middle that began to solo (although the electric piano after it was fitting). Also, I wasn't a fan of the snare rim hits (or wood block?) at the beginning and throughout the piece, they were a little distracting. Nonetheless, overall everything fit well and nothing really stood out like a sore thumb.

I also enjoyed your vocals, very soothing. It's nice to hear someone who has a matured voice, I can't stand it hearing 13 year-olds singing (or trying to death metal).

Nice music, and a nice website, too. I'm going to go and 5 all your stuff, you really deserve it. You're very underrated. Keep up the great work!!

T7online responds:

Wow, reviewed by Orr himself... just, wow.

Mature voice? But i'm only 15! :P

Thanks, i appreciate the effort :)

Klace...

most of these are not your works. You cannot go to places like vgmusic.com and take a midi file and throw it into a sequencer and add instruments. I'm not going to be an ass and zero all your stuff here, but you shouldn't do this. Submit your own stuff instead.

Quite frankly, I'm surprised these haven't been flagged.

Klace responds:

Most of my earlier pieces aren't my Original Works, I'll admit to that, And I am definately gonna start submitting my own Classical stuff as soon as I can.
By the way your new song using Gold, If I'm correct, Is Amazing.
