Experimental

This is very experimental sounding, pretty interesting. What program are you using? Are those midi sounds? They kindda sound like it, except for a few of the later sounds introduced. Keep at it, you're off to a good start :).

I'll give you a 5/5 for the sake of seeing if you can get a little recognization.

P.S- Check out my stuff if you get a chance :)

Typheus responds:

Yeah the ending....SUCKED. I kinda panicked because of time stuff >_>;

And I have the demo version of FL so I couldn't save. Don't worry though...I'm gonna TRY to throw the good stuff at you sometime. Oh and I'm using Fruity Loops..just in case the "FL" didn't give it away :P

Nice job

This is pretty nice stuff... too bad you didn't have a better piano sound. It was a bit tinny, maybe you could mellow it down a bit if you make a new version.

This is a great song, and there are many many good things about it which other people have picked out. So, I will be the asshole and critique.

Some of the instruments were not together (mainly when you were "all together now". If this was intended, it was destracting. If it wasn't intended, it should be pretty easy to fix. The notes are right, just a bit off.

Maestro- I loved the entrance of the strings in form of a major chord, it was very beautiful. The drums seemed a bit lacking in punch, maybe have them louder, or have a bit more complicated beat as they progress?

Milkman, the drum beat was nice, I liked it. Simple, yet catchy. You may want to fatten them up a bit too though, the sounded thin (too trebleish).

I think it would be better if you scrapped the voices, but if you each had your own theme that you somehow portrayed in the song. Maybe Milkman's could be more electronic, and Maestro's could be more classical.

Don't get me wrong guys... this is a great piece of music. I think the ideas are all there, they just need to be developed and tweaked a bit more. Keep it up you two!

(for the record, I'm giving you guys 5/5 for this because I really want to see you get some recognization for this piece!)

MilkMan-Dan responds:

Ahhh... Critique... and well recieved. You noted many of the things I noted myself, but kind of shrugged at, as to the untrained ear... they aren't important. But... since I'm playing to an audience of many trained ears... perhaps I should fix it. Guess I'll come out with a remake of this just to be on the safe side. I noticed the jarbledness at the end where the instruments clash ever so slightly.. not sure why it is they do that... but I shall find it and fix it none the less. As for the drums... come on man... I got a keyboard... I had to drum that beat by hand, using... piano keys... if I could make em fatter I would lol. Thanks for the in debt review, much of which will go into consideration for future collabs. This is our first... but not our last.

Neat

This song has some potential. You should try to get rid of the crackling and noise you are getting, it can get distracting at times. I think a more driving bassline would give this piece more punch. Keep it up!

johnfn responds:

Thanks for the review :D

Yeah, you're right about the cracking, I'm not sure quite why I didn't get rid of it...

Also, a baseline eh? I'll work on that..

very ambient

I like the pads a lot. They really support the piece. I think your drums could have a little more meat to them, they sounds a little thin. Nonetheless, nice work!

johnfn responds:

Thanks for the review!

Yeah, I still stink at drums... I'll get there sometime...

...once someone teaches me how...

But thanks!

Wow

Beautiful. Great melodies, and the string support is incrediable. The flute could use a little mellowing, it does stick out a bit in places. As for the harp suggestion, it's priceless. An ambient harp in the background will fill in any empty space between the soloists, but wouldn't overpower. I think that is what this piece needs (if it does need anything). Great stuff here! 5/5

Swweet

Awesome chord inverval progressions. This needs percussion. It sounds like it could be very inspirational music with some snares in it. Try it out I think it will be to your liking. As for what MaestroSorrow said with the bells- it's true, but in real life bells sound pretty much just like that (depending on the hardness of the mallets you use). Great stuff, I am impressed with the quality of your brass samples! I like them very much! 5/5

Khuskan responds:

I was going to put snares in! I really was, but I had problems finding the 'right' sample, + putting them in without clipping. Yeah, I really, REALLY want snares in this...

Damn again

Strings are amazing at the beginning. I love hearing strings in all pieces (which is why I put them in all of mine). Again, very well done. This shows a great side of you, keep it up! I still would make the vocals not so electronic- I think this piece would suit a much more natural voice. But hey, everyone else likes it, so I think the majority has me beat :P. Kudos!

Khuskan responds:

those... arnt strings... OH WELL :D

Thanks for the review ;-)

Damn

Wow, there is somthing about this. I dunno, it sounds so soothing. I think the vocals may sound a bit too electronic (in my opinion), but they are still a great addition to the piece. All the great artists are getting vocalists, I want one too!

5/5, hands down.

Khuskan responds:

New super dooper extended version will be released later today. Hopefully... And i've improved the vocals no end, as well as even out the balencing :D
