New soundtracks; Sinjid, and more!

Posted by DavidOrr - February 15th, 2013

2013 has proven itself to be an extremely busy year! I've been working on a lot of different soundtracks on different platforms, and I thought I'd share some of them with you :)

First up, AeriaGames commissioned me to write music for their 2013 trailer for their game Alliance of Valiant Arms. AVA is an extremely popular Free-to-play first person shooter available on Steam and Aeria's website. The trailer music is an electrifying mix of epic orchestra and electronica, and is sure to please those looking for something with some kick to it!

Watch the AVA 2013 Trailer!

Next up, is the release of Sinjid! Krin and I have been working on this for many months, and it's great to see it hit prime time. For those of you that don't know, Sinjid uses a complex generative music system that creates a unique soundtrack based on over 70 loops! Every time you play the game, you'll hear a new version of the soundtrack weave in and out of the gameplay. During beta testing, we received overwhelmingly positive feedback on the music, and I'm actively working on a ~20 minute OST to be released very soon!

Check out Sinjid and have a listen yourself!

In other news, I've received several inquiries from various orchestras and ensembles about performing the Castle Crashers theme music, "Four Brave Champions". As a result, I'm going to be orchestrating a version for full orchestra over the next few months so I can produce scores for performance. With any luck, I'll get a live recording of the music to share with you!

Awesome work dude, glad to see you're still doing what you do. Orchestrated Castle Crashers music will be amazing :)

Thanks man -- and likewise! At this point, I plan on staying in the industry until I retire; I won't be going away anytime soon :)

i truly hate the lag and premium content
i would perfer the most balanced class to be free and the preist to eb premium as i find the preist to be the most complex

Unfortunatley these are out of my control ... I'm just the sound guy :). Nonetheless, I'll pass your thoughts onto Krin!

You're the best music maker EVER, Orr. I wish you good luck. Also, could you remind Krin of Sonny 3? I hope he will make it...

Thanks! Sonny 3 is going to happen -- we've announced plans for i and everything. W'ere working on a few smaller games right now, but we're going to shift focus when the time comes :)

fantastic stuff. continued success to you

Appreciate it Luis! Thanks for stopping by :)

you did a great job on the music if only i liked music enough to purchase an Ipod
the reason why i feel the hunter should be free and replaced with the preist is since that way its more noob freindly so everyone has a balanced class and as so veteran RPG players can purchase the preist and such as the preist is clearly coplex and many veteran players are older and own credit cards

Thanks :) Your take on the Priest/Hunter is really interesting. The hunter was designed as a niche class -- capable of tremendous damage with lots of speccing flexibility, but at the cost of survivability. The hunter is a great for that "get in and get out" play style, where you can really hurt enemies up front, but lack the sustenance skills to survive a long battle. The priest, on the other hand, has some tanking and melee elements, and IMO makes for a relatively forgiving caster class. Overall, I'd say the hunter makes for a more challenging play style, but has some huge potential DPS.

It's cool to see different opinions -- I'll (once again) relay the information :)

I felt like playing World of Warcraft for the first time again. Thank you.

happy WoWing!

nice work my friend:)

I really like the game, but I LOVE the first screen music!
Is there anywhere us viewers/gamers can dowload it?!
Its gorgeous.

I hadn't thought about putting that on the OST (which I'm finishing up now), but it might make sense to include it. The thing is, the music on the menu screen is actually a combination of many different zone themes in the game (due to the music system being generative in real-time).

Might make for a nice bonus track :)

I love your work :D

When will the pieces be released on NG?
I'm also curious as to when the other pieces from your DEMO REEL will be released as well :)

Most of them have already been released; they won't end up on Newgrounds because they're under contract and Newgrounds conditions will breach just about any commercial contract out there :(

Thanks for dropping by :)

Can you post the song titles and where to find your pieces?

Sinjid the shadow warior? Haven't played it for years, I've missed it... Well done!

Is there a Sonny 3 coming? x3

The new Sinjid is a sequel to the one released years ago -- they're two completely different games, Sonny 3 will be coming, but I don't have any details I can share at this time. Thanks for stopping by!
